Free Crochet Pattern-Pineapple Dishcloth



Size: About 6″ wide by 10″ long
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn:
Yellow – 2 oz, 100 yds (60 g, 92 m)
Green – 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 46 m)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
JOINING WITH SCWhen instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
Special StitchesShell: (dc, tr, dc) in same st or sp indicated.
Picot: Sl st in 3rd ch from hook.
DISHCLOTH:Row 1: (Right Side) Starting from the bottom, with Yellow, ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [sc in next ch] across. (9 sc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), turn, (tr, dc) in first sc, * ch 1, skip next 3 sc, shell in next sc; rep from * once more. (3 shells and 2 ch-1 sps)
Row 3: Ch 3, turn, (tr, dc) in first dc, ch 1, skip next 2 sts, [shell in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] twice, skip next 2 sts, shell in last dc. (4 shells and 3 ch-1 sps)
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, (tr, dc) in first dc, ch 1, skip next 2 sts, [shell in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 3 times, skip next 2 sts, shell in last dc. (5 shells and 4 ch-1 sps)
Row 5: Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1), turn, skip next 2 sts, [shell in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 4 times, skip next 2 sts, dc in last dc. (2 dc, 4 shells and 5 ch-1 sps)
Row 6: Ch 3, turn, (tr, dc) in first ch-1 sp, ch 1,  [shell in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 3 times, (dc, tr) in last ch-1 sp, dc in last dc. (5 shells and 4 ch-1 sps)
Rows 7-10: Rep Rows 5-6 twice.
Row 11: Rep Row 5.
Row 12: Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1), turn, [shell in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 3 times, dc in last dc. (2 dc, 3 shells and 4 ch-1 sps)
Row 13: Ch 3, turn, shell in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, shell in next ch-1 sp, dc in last dc. (2 dc, 2 shells and 1 ch-1 sp) Finish off and weave in ends.
LeavesRow 1: With wrong side facing, join Green with sc to first dc of first shell, sc in next 2 sts, sc in next ch-1 sp, sc in next 3 sts. (7 sc) Leave remaining dc unworked.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, hdc in next sc, dc in next sc, tr in next (center) sc, dc in next sc, hdc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc. (9 sc)
Row 3: Ch 5 (counts as first tr and ch 1), turn, tr in first sc, [ch 1, tr in next sc] across. (10 tr and 9 ch-1 sps)
Row 4: Ch 5, turn, picot, ch 1, sl st in first ch-1 sp, sl st in next tr, ch 6, picot, ch 2, sl st in ch-1 sp, sl st in next tr, ch 7, picot, ch 3, sl st. in ch-1 sp, sl st in next tr, ch 8, picot, ch 4, sl st in next ch-1 sp, sl st in next tr, ch 9, picot, ch 5, sl st in next ch-1 sp, sl st in next tr, ch 8, picot, ch 4, sl st in next ch-1 sp, sl st in next tr, ch 7, picot, ch 3, sl st in next ch-1 sp, sl st in next tr, ch 6, picot, ch 2, sl st in next ch-1 sp, sl st in next tr, ch 5, picot, ch 1, sl st in next ch 1 sp. EdgingRow 1: With right side facing, join Yellow with sl st to last dc of last shell on Row 13 (same dc used for first sc of Leaves), evenly sc around Yellow part of Pineapple, ending with sl st in first dc of first shell on Row 13 (same dc used for last sc of Row 1 of Leaves). Finish off and weave in ends.
