Crochet Paolo purse

GAUGE
In pattern stitch, using H-8 (5 mm) hook, 3 pattern repeats and 9 rows = 5"/12.5 cm.

Block piece to approx 10"/25.5cm wide x 16"/40.5cm long. Mark 5"/12.5 cm up on long side of purse and fold lower section of piece up at the mark. Place piece on lining fabric and cut fabric to fit, allowing 1/2"/1.5 cm of extra fabric all the way around (for seam allowance). Fold top edges of lining fabric down 1/2"/1.5 cm and seam. Fold lining fabric in half and sew 1/2"/1.5 cm side seams. Sew side seams of purse taking care to hide carried strands on wrong side of purse. Tack lining inside purse.
Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.

Crochet wrap shawl

Materials:
  • 1 skein Caron International One Pound Yarn in Cream (100% acrylic; 16 oz/454 g, 812 yds/742 m)
  • US N-15 (10mm) crochet hook, or size to obtain gauge
  • Yarn needle
     
Size: Wrap measures approximately 24"/61cm wide x 68"/172.5cm long
 
Gauge:  In pattern, 3 pattern repeats = 16"/40.5cm and 7 rows = 8"/20.5cm. Note: One pattern repeat forms one "wave", and includes one dc7tog, 6 tr, and the ch-1 sps between them.

Special Terms:
  • dc2tog: Double crochet 2 together—[Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook] 2 times, yarn over and draw through 3 loops on hook.
  • dc3tog: Double crochet 3 together—[Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook] 3 times, yarn over and draw through 4 loops on hook.

  6. To make fringe, cut remaining yarn into strands 14–16"/35.5–40.5cm long. Holding 2 strands together, fold fringe in half. *Insert crochet hook from WS to RS in side edge of wrap, pull fold through, insert ends into fold and pull tight against edge; repeat from *, working across side edge. Repeat across other side edge.
     
  7. Optional (knotted fringe): Draw one end of the 2 strands all the way through the piece, folding the strands in half, until all 4 ends are even, tie an overhand knot about 1"/2cm from side edge.
