Crochet Snowflake

The size of the finished showflake is approximately 3 in (8 cm) in diameter (if you use recommended yarn weight and crochet hook size). You can vary the size a bit if you use smaller or bigger size hook or different weight yarn.
Recommended weight yarn: Medium to worsted weight (weight category #4)
Recommended crochet hook size: I 9 (5.5 mm) to J 10 (6.00 mm)
Use the Crochet Snowflake to make winter - themed appliques for hats, baby blankets, crochet bags, garment and as Holiday home decorations and even as Christmas tree ornaments!





Step 1. CH 3 (make a chain of 3 stitches).
Step 2. Join in a ring with a slip stitch. This is the center ring.
Step 3. CH 5 (make a chain of 5 stitches).
Step 4. Make a slip stitch in the 3rd stitch from the hook.
Step 5. CH 2 (make a chain of 2 stitches).
Step 6. Slip stitch in the 2nd stitch from the hook (it should be the same stitch as you've made the slip stitch in in Step 4)
Step 7. CH 2 and make a slip stitch in the same stitch as from Step 4 and Step 6.
Step 8. Make 2 slip stitches along the "stem" back to the center ring.
Step 9. Make a slip stitch in the center ring.
Step 10. CH 2 (make a chain of 2 stitches).
Step 11. Make a slip stitch in the center ring of the snowflake.
Repeat Steps 3-11four (4) more times for each "petal".
The finished second "petal".
The snowflake has 5 "petals" - you can make 6 or more, just repeat Steps 3-11. :)
